Blast off with Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility’s bottle rocket workshop
/Combining science with creativity and fun, the popular Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility’s bottle rocket workshop is back for the Easter school holidays.
The free workshop is being held on Monday 30 March at the Facility’s visitor centre and is aimed at children aged 7-15 and their accompanying parents or guardians.
Introducing the group to the principles of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), disused empty bottles will be decorated and transformed into high-flying rockets.
Attendees will count down to blast off while learning about aerodynamics, propulsion, and the importance of reusing materials in fun and practical ways.
Melanie de la Torre Zamora, Community Relationship Manager, said: "This workshop is always very popular as it’s a really practical demonstration of bringing science, reuse, and creativity together alongside problem solving. The resulting rocket launches are always a very exciting way to end the session.”
Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. To secure a place, visit our Eventbrite page.
