Storytellers get creative with Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility’s competition
/Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility is inviting budding young wordsmiths and imaginative storytellers to enter its writing competition and unleash their talent with words on the 4Rs.
Reduce, reuse, recycle, and recover is central to the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility’s education programme and school-aged children are encouraged to weave these into a short story, a poem, a song, some non-fiction, or even an advert. There are no restrictions to the type of entry – the writing can be entertaining, informative, or educational but there is a 750-word limit.
With £50 of vouchers up for grabs, the entries will be judged in age categories. The competition closes on 13 January and is designed to unlock an interest in responsible waste management in young creative minds.
Melanie de la Torre Zamora, Community Relationship Manager, said: “Our annual competitions are very popular with local children and we’re always so impressed with their grasp on tackling climate change. We’re excited to see what creative prose they submit.”
Full terms and conditions and details on how to submit entries can be found here. Entry forms can be found here.
