Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility to host open day

Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility announces its annual autumn open day offering an opportunity to see behind the scenes as it opens its doors to the public on Saturday 18 October.

The open day provides insight into the energy from waste process. Visitors will be guided through key areas of the facility to learn how it operates within its commitment to sustainable waste management, energy recovery and reducing landfill use.

The day consists of three one-hour sessions starting at 10am, 11:30am, and 1pm. Each tour will have a maximum of 15 people and places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis.

Rob Hayward, General Manager of the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility, said: “There’s a natural curiosity for how the facility works and we’re pleased to be able to open the doors, meet with visitors, and share the processes involved.

“Engaging with the local community, highlighting and sharing the environmental benefits of energy from waste is key for us.”

This open day follows the continued demand and interest from the public to understand more about how the facility operates. To book a space on the open day, please book here
