Turning scraps into paper with free papermaking workshop

Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility is set to show you how simple it is to make your own paper out of scraps during its latest workshop on Tuesday 27 October.

In the latest in a series of free workshops designed for children aged 7-15 and their accompanying adults, participants will see first-hand how recycling can be incredibly creative as well as the importance of the 4 Rs of waste: reuse, reduce, recycle and recovery.  

The session, ideal for beginners, will run for approximately an hour and a half and is being held at the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility’s Education and Visitor Centre. All supplies for the workshop will be provided by the facility, but guests are welcome to bring their own scraps.

Melanie de la Torre Zamora, Community Relationship Manager at the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility, shared: “This workshop is a firm favourite as it embodies creative recycling and is incredibly fun too. I think people would be surprised to learn how straight forward it is to make your own paper. We look forward to welcoming participants and seeing what they can create.”
