Funding available for community groups with Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility
/Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility has launched its 2026 Community Fund and is inviting local community groups and parish organisations to apply for a portion of the funding.
The £25,000, subject to RPI, pot of money is available to local community groups and parish organisations for delivering projects with environmental, social, or community benefits.
This initiative provides grants for projects that deliver environmental, social, or community benefits across Hunts Grove, Hardwicke, Quedgeley, Brookthorpe-with-Whaddon, Haresfield, Harescombe, Standish, Moreton Valence, and Whitminster.
Last year, 11 projects were successful, being awarded money to part or fully fund improvements for community groups and sports clubs including building, DIY, restorations, and equipment.
FCC Environment, the contracted operator of the Facility, funds the initiative whilst undertaking minor administrative duties for the application process. The funding decisions made independently of FCC, by committee representatives from the Community Liaison Group. The group includes representatives from local Parish Councils, District and County Councils, and residents.
Juergen Schaper, Operations Director (Energy Division) at FCC Environment, said:
“The Community Fund has made a meaningful impact on local initiatives, helping to bring important projects to life and we’re thrilled to be opening applications for another year. Seeing projects come to life as a result of the funding is fantastic to see and we look forward to supporting more great projects this year.”
Applications for the 2026 Community Fund close on Sunday 16 August. For further details and to apply, download the application form www.gloucestershireefw.co.uk/community-fund
