Since the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility became fully operational and before the current Covid-19 lockdown, a number of local schools and organisations visited the facility.

An interior feature of the facility which has gained a lot of interest from our visitors, is our newly finished mural in the reception area of the administration and control room building.

The mural was designed by local artist, Andrew Davies, as a nod to the history of Javelin Park, which was formerly the home of the ‘Gloster Javelin’ fighter plane.

In addition to the fighter plane, the mural also depicts the local wildlife and surrounding countryside with recognisable features. Features include foxes, owls, and deer, bringing the outside in, whilst the Haresfield Beacon, River Severn, and a local church also make an appearance.

If you are interested in seeing the completed mural in person and to see the facility in operation, you can contact us directly  to book a site visit for when the lockdown period is over. New bookings are currently being taken from end October 2020 onwards.
