Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility Announces March Open Day

The Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility is pleased to announce its next open day on Saturday, 22nd March 2025.

With general tours fully booked a year in advance and the last open day reaching capacity within 24 hours, this is a rare opportunity for visitors to explore the facility and gain insight into the energy-from-waste process.

The event will include three guided sessions at 10am, 11:30am, and 1pm, each accommodating small groups of up to 15 people. Attendees will have the chance to see key areas of the facility, including the waste cranes, combustion grate, and stack, providing a close-up look at how household residual waste is transformed into a valuable resource.

Melanie de la Torre Zamora, Community Relationship Manager, said: "Due to the incredible demand for our tours, we’re delighted to offer another open day. These events allow the community to see firsthand how energy-from-waste plays a role in reducing landfill use while generating electricity. We encourage those interested to book quickly, as spaces fill up fast."

Our Spring Open Day is now over subscribed. Thank you for your interest.
